Where is Matinicus Island?

Matinicus island is 22 miles out to sea from the art gallery and museum port of Rockland, Maine. Matinicus is the most seaward of Maine's islands, located at the outer reaches of Penobscot Bay. Rockland, Maine is less than 2 hours from Portland on coastal Route One.
